Snapped this photo right before boarding my flight out of Sydney's international terminal. As you can see, after so long it has collected a fair share of scratches and dents after a brutal quarter of back to back long haul flights. Disposable plastic bags look miserable when they get scratched, but this aluminum shell somehow just looks more distinguished with every trip. It constantly turns heads in the first class lounge precisely because it doesn’t look brand new, it looks like it has stories to tell.

If you look closely at the top corner, you can see the very first scuff this case took after so long use, a souvenir from a rather chaotic seaplane transfer in the Maldives. I love that mark. It sits in my coastal home looking rugged, yet remarkably elegant.

I am exceedingly particular about the design of the items I bring into my life but this one feels less like luggage and more like industrial art. The craftsmanship is flawless. I am actually looking forward to it picking up some character on my upcoming month in Lake Como.

I fly SYD to MEL every other week for site visits. I’m giving this 4 stars only because you really need to watch your packing weight - aluminum is heavy, and domestic airlines are getting ruthless with their 7kg carry on limits. That said, the 20" carry on is an absolute unit. The wheels are eerily quiet compared to my old Away bag, making early morning terminal runs much less obnoxious. The compression boards inside are actually functional, not just a cheap mesh net. Good piece of kit.

I debated this purchase for almost two months because of the price. I've owned premium luggage before, including Rimowa and Tumi, so my expectations were high. What impressed me most wasn't just the appearance - it was the engineering. The shell feels exceptionally rigid without being overly heavy, the wheels glide effortlessly through airports, and every component feels precisely assembled. After four international flights, it still looks remarkably new. Once you use luggage built to this standard, it's difficult to go back.
